Registration for voting deadline 22nd May 2017

Register to voteIn advance of the EU referendum in June last year 94% of the student population registered to vote, though only 64% used their vote.

Those of you who will 18 years old by the date of registration will need to register by the 22nd May 2017 to be able to vote in the forthcoming General Election on Thursday 8th June. Registration can be done online and takes about 5 minutes to complete, links below.

However, registering to vote is not enough. Politics touch every part of a young adults future, through education, the economy (jobs, the price of goods, services and food), training, workers' rights, the NHS, and the availability of affordable rented or ownership housing. You can use your vote to have some power through government over what direction YOUR future takes, what opportunities are made available by the next government and what doors might be closed.

You have the power of having a vote and playing a full part in British democracy.
