Councillor Sara Dellar

Meet Councillor Sara Dellar

Sara has lived in Musters ward for nearly 30 years now and her children went to the local schools. Sara has had a series of rescue dogs which means she is familiar with the parks and open spaces as well as cycling where possible to local events.

Sara is a retired adoption team manager who worked for many years for the county council. She has a long history of working within her community having chaired her award-winning neighbourhood watch for many years. She has an interest in planning arising from her campaign to stop the building on Sharphill – hands across the hill and her on going involvement with the later plans for housing with a further protest and the setting up of the Sharphill action group. Sara retains her interest in planning and continues to follow events on Sharphill in particular the current issues with the soil mound.

Sara is interested in promoting recycling, preserving our open spaces and encouraging use of public transport. Since being elected she has been supporting the Friary allotments, and the friends of Sharphill with her council grants. She regularly reads and comments on planning applications and her involvement in the community is reported in the Focus magazine.

"I met Ed Davey at a lib dem party conference. Pleased that he knew Nottingham, having lived here at one time and West Bridgford, where he had friends.

He told the conference in March 2024 that the party manifesto was ready to launch. The major themes I picked up on were clean water for our rivers, streams and coast. The importance of proportional representation to make results better reflect voting and the need for strong economic ties with Europe because of the negative impact of current rules and regulations."
