Lib Dem’s join the chorus of disapproval over plans to sell Lutteral Hall
Liberal Democrat activists joined community groups, Lutteral Hall users and Labour party activists to raise their voices in protest against Conservative-led Rushcliffe Borough Council's decision to sell off Lutteral Hall.
The protest was led vocally by the West Bridgford Liberty Singers, a community choir who use the Hall to rehearse. The marchers walked from the hall to Ken Clarke's constituency office, where representatives from the St. Giles playgroup, who use the hall daily, were meeting with the MP to discuss the proposed sale.
Kari-Olson Porthouse (aka Liberty Singer) led the assembled group of choir members and activists in a number of songs, including a version of 'A Little Respect' especially adapted for the occasion by choir member, Jackie Shears.
For this Liberal Democrat (Vicky Price, Lib Dem spokesperson for Trent Bridge Ward) it was a joy to be combining my passion for singing with an opportunity to work for the greater benefit of our community. It was also a pleasure to join with colleagues from other parties. Well done to Kari for getting Rushcliffe Labour and Liberal Democrat's, quite literally, singing from the same sheet!
