Rushcliffe voters deserve the strong Lib Dem environmental plan

Tackling climate change topped the policy priorities for the young audience in BBC Radio Nottingham's Election Hustings broadcast at 7pm on Thursday 5th Dec. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p07wzn1z). The first-time voters are looking for firm and decisive leadership as well as action from the politicians chosen to lead after Thursday's poll.
Speaking on the BBC panel of candidates, Rushcliffe Liberal Democrat's Jason Billin said:
"Only the Liberal Democrats have a clear and credible plan to tackle climate change. But we have to work together with other world leaders if we are going to have the impact we need. The tragedy of Brexit is that our voice and ability to act will be weakened - we will have less influence and less to invest in tackling the emergency.
"The Labour party's climbdown on their environmental pledges show they have no credible plan. I believe Rushcliffe voters, especially the young, will turn out on Polling Day to support our honest and costed plans. They are reminding us that we have no Planet B. They are telling us we need to act, to show leadership."
The Liberal Democrat policy is to cut emissions drastically by 2030 and to reach net-zero by 2045. In addition to insulating every low income home by 2025, and all homes by 2030, the Lib Dems will plant over 60 million trees and work to generate 80% of the nation's electricity from renewables within the next 10 years.
