Lib Dem Health Spokesperson joins local Rochdale campaign!

Liberal Democrat Shadow Secretary for Health - Steve Webb MP celebrated keeping his high-profile position in a Lib Dem re-shuffle by announcing a visit to Rochdale as a guest of local MP - Paul Rowen. Steve's first job when his position was confirmed by new Lib Dem Leader Sir Menzies Campbell MP, was to pledge to join the fight to save vital services at Rochdale Infirmary and to continue his battle to improve NHS Dentistry.

Good news for Foxholes Residents.

Central Ward Councillor - Shah Wazir has spoke of his delight after a meeting of concerned residents and parents at All Saints Primary School in Foxeholes, Rochdale. The meeting was about the problems with traffic in the area. Councillor Shah Wazir has been inundated with complaints about speeding, parking, driveways being blocked and the danger of traffic to residents including young children.

Rochdale Bus Station Uncertainty!

Rochdale Liberal Democrat Deputy Leader - Councillor Shah Wazir has slammed the GMPTA after it emerged that there will NO MONEY in the Capital Programme for a new Bus Station in Rochdale in 2006/2007. Councillor Wazir, the Rochdale Lib Dem GMPTA Spokesperson attended a Policy Meeting of the Authority at Manchester Town Hall today. (3rd March)

Levenshulme joins Rochdale and backs Irish Post Campaign to Save Parlour

The biggest Irish Community outside of London has joined forces with THe Irish Post to campaign against BBC GMR's plans to axe popular Irish Show "The Parlour" The village of Levenshulme in South Manchester has responded with fury after their local BBC Radio Station's plans were leaked. Levenshulme's many Irish shops, pubs and cafes are now gathering names on a petition. The Parlour has interviewed the great and the good in the Irish Community including current president of Ireland Mary McAleese, former Leader of the SDLP and Winner of the Nobel Peace Prize - Rt. Hon. John Hulme, Housewife's Favourite Daniel O'Donnell and Manchester United Legend Denis Irwin.
